Amaju Pinnick, President of the Nigeria Football Federation, has indicated that a new head coach for the country’s senior national team will be named by Thursday.
The Super Eagles have been without a full-time manager since December 2021, following Gernot Rohr’s dismissal, and Nigerians have been waiting for an announcement of a new manager.
According to reports, NFF authorities are interested in signing Portuguese Jose Peseiro, who formerly managed Venezuela, while the ministry wants additional coaches interviewed for the role in order to choose the finest coach for the three-time African champions.
He mentioned this while watching his interview with Punch, he said; “All the minister wants is fair play and not just Peseiro, he wants us to weigh other options and we will be announcing the new Eagles coach latest by Thursday.”
In May, the Super Eagles will play Mexico and Ecuador in an international friendly.
